Jordi regularly plays improvised solo pieces a part of chamber music programs as well as complete solo concerts. Relying completely on the energy in the room he combines fragments and impulses from the western musical tradition in a flow of musical thoughts. Jordi has improvised in the chamber hall of the Concertgebouw, Sint Bavo’s Cathedral in Ghent, Arvo Pärt Center in Estonia, Kings Place in London as well as on small festival stages across Europe.
Since 2015 Yanna Pelser and Jordi Carrasco Hjelm developed improvisations together, they perform occasionally in obscure venues, combining free improvisation with four part chorale singing.
Comprised of top players from all over Europe, the orchestra performs eclectic and adventurous programmes, with anything from arrangements of medieval motets to Bach, Webern and Metallica. The orchestra regularly collaborates with world-renowned soloists such as Evelyn Glennie, Steven Isserlis, Anne Sofie von Otter and Nils Landgren, as well as jazz artists, rappers, choreographers, rock-balancers and more.
Jordi is has been a member since its beginning in 2014.

The ensemble operates around the world right from its home base in Amsterdam. The programming balances out the rich collection of important 20th century composers with the most recent 21st century work, with a strong emphasis on the work of current composers, both of which are performed at various venues, festivals and interdisciplinary performances
